custom memory quilts created to honor a memory or loved one
each of these is a custom design of my own that I have made for the customer, but these designs have proven over the years to be the most popular ones to create variations of for new work. use my contact form for any questions and name the pieces that inspire you most as a beginning reference.
Using the Still Waters Pattern that I designed - we came up with a new variation for this family who wanted to use their brother’s jeans and clothing - along with a handwritten letter printed onto fabric - to create this heirloom.

this quilt was made with the denim jeans of a beloved son who is greatly missed. the mother loves bright green and minimalist design, so we added in some highlight greens and used white to bring calm design sense to the overall piece.

made for a college student leaving home for the first time, this quilt was inspired by “brother’s jeans” and used the same design principles but different fabrics.

this quilt was made by using my other art form, collage. the customer wanted an image that reflected the beach near their new vacation home and asked me to make a collage based on that beach. we enlarged and printed this image onto fabric and inset it into white linen. the digital nature of this imagery makes this quilt one that can be replicated again - it is also for sale in my shop.

commissioned by a woman to commemorate her own emergence after a particularly rough divorce, this quilt is about the feelings of freedom and takes it’s inspiration from a wing in flight.

this quilt was made for a daughter remembering her mother through clothing as she commissioned this piece for her father. it was a very simple design, based on his style - she also commissioned 3 art pieces in her mother’s clothes for her father, her sister and herself.

This custom memory quilt was commissioned to mark a wedding anniversary. The colors of the boxes each represent a moment or memory in the couple’s life together… the color pants he wore when they met, their favorite colors, the shade of a favorite dog, the poster from a movie they love. The process for this quilt started with inspiration of another memory quilt by Liberty Worth (see Scout’s quilt below) and incorporated finding colors to attach to the special memories this husband had of getting to know his wife over the years.

Commissioned to commemorate a beloved dog. Black to emulate his beautiful coat and bandannas like he wore as accents around center squares that included a hand drawn cartoon of Scout the Dog.

This quilt was commissioned to celebrate the life of a beloved dog. Her pawprints were taken and turned into fabric that anchored the squares, and the colors were chosen based on the owner’s memories of their adventures together.

In lieu of a baby shower, a mama-to-be sent out fabrics to loved ones, had them write messages on the pieces and send them back to become a family heirloom.

This quilt was commissioned as a wedding gift from a group of 23 friends. Each friend wrote thoughts on the bride which were represented in a corresponding stripe.

This quilt was commissioned to include a family tree that the child’s mother had embroidered. Sentimental fabrics from both sides of her family were included in the quilt blocks around the focal piece..
